Developed for high-salinity environments
– where nature is beautiful, but tough on materials.
Outdoor environments place high demands on lighting. Moisture, wind, dirt, and temperature fluctuations affect both functionality and lifespan.
That is why we at Hide-a-lite continue to develop luminaires with material choices built to withstand real-world conditions over time.
We are now introducing galvanized steel, C4, across selected products in our range. A material engineered to withstand exposed environments. Over time, the galvanized finish develops a natural patina.
Galvanization, C4, for environments where nature makes demands.
A raw surface that protects – and changes over time. Galvanization is a chemical process that makes our steel luminaires suited for exposed outdoor environments where wind, moisture, and high salinity are part of everyday life. Here, it is not just about withstanding the elements, but also about lasting over time.
When the steel is dipped in molten zinc, the metals react with one another and the zinc forms a protective alloy on the surface – a layer that resists external impacts and slows down corrosion. It is precisely this process that gives the hot-dip galvanized luminaire its long lifespan. The surface naturally protects against corrosion, and over the years it evolves, developing a patina that renders each luminaire unique.
With a C4 classification, the solution is adapted for coastal and demanding installations.
The luminaires help highlight buildings and surroundings while creating a well-considered whole.
The luminaire has a shiny surface upon delivery.
The surface develops a natural patina and a matte, rustic appearance.
Steel that has been hot-dip galvanized by being dipped in molten zinc. This creates a protective layer that resists rust.
• Withstands high-salinity environments
• Effectively protects against corrosion
•Minimal maintenance
•Natural patina over time
The surface may vary slightly from the start – this is part of the material's character. Over time, the appearance will even out.
Clean as needed with water, especially in coastal environments, to maximize lifespan.
