We climate-compensate your lighting!

Replacing an existing installation of halogen downlights with LEDs means not only a saving for your wallet but also a saving for the environment, as all energy production affects the environment in the form of, among other things, carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, it is nice to know that our lighting systems with modern LED solutions help save energy. Because we know that the most sustainable energy is that which never needs to be produced!

Yes, an LED installation requires energy, but at a lower amount than halogen. In order to climate-compensate for the energy that our Optic S Quick ISO will actually consume during the time it is lit on average during its first year, we support Vi-Skogen's work to replant trees. These trees absorb as much carbon dioxide as our Optic S Quick ISO emits during its burning time over one year. In this way, you as an electrician can install Optic S Quick ISO with a clear conscience for both the customer's future energy costs and for our environment.

Better energy efficiency

During the late 1900s and early 2000s, many smaller 10W and 20W 12V halogen downlights were installed in home environments around the Nordic region. The disadvantage of halogen downlights is that they become very hot, which results in an increased fire risk, in addition, they have a high energy consumption (by today's standards). Today, there are more sustainable lighting alternatives with significantly lower energy consumption and longer service life! To meet this need, we are launching our energy-efficient halogen replacement Optic S Quick ISO at Hide-a-lite.

How much of a difference does it make?

A lot of energy can be saved in a household by reviewing the lighting, such as replacing halogen downlights to LED. The replacement will also provide significantly more light than before, so the energy savings will be even greater if the light is dimmed to the same level or lower. The savings can look different depending on the individual project's conditions, but here we have produced an example of a standard detached house from the 90s.

The example shows a classic lighting set-up with halogen fittings. To achieve a good general lighting with 20W halogen downlights, in certain areas it required up to 1 x 20W halogen/m². This house, with 95 x 20W halogen can be seen as a typical example from this period.

Change from 20W halogen to Optic S Quick ISO 4.5W.

Saving in W / luminaire: 20W - 4.5W = 15.5W

Total saving in W: 15.5W x 95 luminaires ≈ 1 473W

Average burn time / year: 6h x 365 days = 2190h

Savings in kWh / year: 2190h x 1473W ≈ 3226 kWh

Savings in SEK / year: 3226 kWh x 1 SEK* = 3226 SEK

*average price for electricity.

The above example should be seen as a standard calculation regarding the number of luminaires, burning time and electricity price.

...Did you know...

our Optic S Quick ISO has a cut-out of 55-63mm adapted for older halogen downlights? With a simple update, you achieve LED lighting with a long service life when you replace it, and you also avoid the risk of fire that halogen lighting can cause. Optic S Quick has an outdoor-proof coating and can also be mounted outdoors!
